Make a Donation to the Hall of Fame

Every artifact in the Hall of Fame Collection must be cared for and preserved. Donations help pay the cost of this preservation. (Milo Stewart Jr.)
Why do we need your Help?
Preserving history. Honoring excellence. Connecting generations. This simple mission guides us every day. As a not-for-profit educational institution, independent of Major League Baseball, we strive to deepen everyone's understanding of Baseball and its significant role in American culture. A greater understanding leads to a greater love and appreciation. And with a greater love comes a greater chance that Baseball — tied so closely to our history and our roots — will not only endure, but flourish.
In order to fulfill this mission, we:
- Collect artifacts, works of art, music, literature, and photographs significant to the history of The Game.
- Preserve, document, and catalog our valuable collections.
- Educate through curatorially sound and attractive exhibits.
- Instruct school children through innovative programs in math, science, communications, history, and economics.
- Honor those who have made the most exceptional contributions to The Game.
Your tax-deductible contribution helps to support these activities and allows us to do even more. Donors receive privileges that are commensurate with their level of support, gifts greater then $50 are acknowledged in our annual donor edition of Memories and Dreams.

Ways of Giving to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum
Without the help of our donors and members, the Hall of Fame would not be able to document the history of our national pastime by preserving history, honoring excellence and connecting generations. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is a private not-for-profit educational institution, classified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts may be deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult your attorney or tax advisor for details. All gifts, regardless of size, are welcomed.
Unrestricted GiftsDonations that support the organization's most pressing needs and ongoing mission programs are encouraged. Unrestricted gifts are applied to the Annual Fund. Make an online gift.
Matching GiftsMany employers will match your personal donation. Check with your company for more information on its matching gift program. Matching funds may also be available if you are the spouse of an employee, or a retired employee.
Artifact DonationGifts of artifacts, documents and archival materials that enrich the Museum collection are welcomed.

These are major gifts that help ensure the long-term financial security of the Museum by preserving the principal of each gift, while permitting expenditures of income and appreciation.
Gifts of Appreciated SecuritiesIt is frequently more advantageous to contribute appreciated securities directly rather than to sell the securities and donate the proceeds from the sale.
BequestsYou may include the Hall of Fame in your will by making a bequest in a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate, or the residual remaining after all debts, taxes, expenses and other bequests have been paid. You may also make specific bequests of securities or property such as rare art objects, rare books or collectibles. Your estate can receive an estate tax charitable deduction for your bequest. You may make a bequest to the Museum by preparing a new will or revising an existing one.
