What happens if we have to cancel our reservation?
Refunds will not be issued under any circumstances. Campers may exchange their reservation for a future overnight program provided that they cancel their reservation with 24 hours advanced notice of the original program. Subject to availability.
What time should we arrive?
Registration runs from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Please be punctual as we have a whole evening of fun events planned.
Can we bring a cot or an air mattress?
No cots are permitted. Participants can bring air mattresses, though any larger than twin size must be shared between two people due to space issues. There are electric outlets available in the Gallery to inflate them.
Can we bring food?
No. We ask that you eat dinner before your arrival. To protect the artifacts, outside food is not permitted into the Museum. An evening snack and a morning breakfast will be provided.
If your child has allergies, please alert us when registering and you can pack a special snack for them. We do not allow extra snacks or treats in other cases.
Where will we be sleeping?
Participants will sleep in the carpeted alcoves of the Plaque Gallery. For safety reasons, some lights will remain on throughout the night.
Is there a shower?
There are bathrooms and sinks but no shower.
How much of the museum will we be allowed to explore?
During your Discovery Tour of the Museum, all public areas will remain open except for the Museum Shop.
Will the Museum Shop open?
The Museum Shop will remain closed for the evening, but you are welcome to return to the Museum the following morning at 9 a.m. to visit the shop.
Can we leave early?
Yes. Campers may leave early if needed after notifying overnight staff. However, they will not be permitted to return and there will be no refund.
Can we stay later than 8:30 a.m.?
All participants must exit the mMseum by 8:30 a.m. so we can clean the museum and be ready to open at 9 a.m. You will be issued a wristband when you register that will allow you to return when the Museum opens for the public.
Where can we park and how long may we stay?
Upon registration, you will be given a parking pass and designated spot to park on Hall of Fame property. This pass is only good until the following morning at 8:30 a.m. If you want to stay in Cooperstown after 8:30 a.m., you must move your vehicle to a public parking spot in Cooperstown.
Does the museum get hot/cold in the evening?
We make every attempt to keep the museum at a comfortable temperature. However, we do suggest you pack a few layers, including a sweatshirt.
What time do we go to bed?
Due to the full evening of activities, bedtime is not until about 11:00 p.m. Because this is a special treat for your group, we encourage normally early bedtimers to take a nap before attending. We are unable to accommodate individuals that require an earlier bedtime.
What about snow storms/severe weather?
A decision will be made by noon on the day of the event. If the event is cancelled, we will make every effort to reschedule the event.
